Frequently Asked Questions

You are also welcome to text me on 07889 861964. You can call me on this number, though there may be quite a delay in my reply as my phone is on silent while I work.

For individuals, daytime sessions before 5pm cost £70 per session.
For individuals, sessions starting after 5pm I charge £75 per session.

For individuals, sessions starting after 7pm I charge £90 per session.

How long is a session?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes.

Online sessions
At the moment I only offer online appointments using zoom. This works very well for most people.  However, it does mean making sure you have a signal or WiFi connection that works well and the privacy you need to speak freely during your appointment.

Many of my clients like the convenience of not needing to travel from their homes, or the continuity of continuing with appointments when they are travelling away from home. Online EMDR appointments are also extremely effective for most people. I recommend you try one zoom appointment to see if it suits you.

Where are you in Truro?

When are you in Scorrier?

Unfortunately for the moment all sessions are online on zoom or telephone only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, though Fridays have very limited availability at the moment.

What is the frequency of sessions?
Sessions are usually weekly but can be fortnightly dependent on a clients needs. A one-off session is also available to talk through a particular concern you may be carrying and not wish to share with family or friends.
For sex therapy there may be monthly sessions as the end goals are being reached.
For initial appointments you may be given a cancellation and there may be a wait to get a regular appointment.
For regular appointments, to guarantee forward appointments, we would agree a pattern of weekly or fortnightly sessions. To hold open this pattern of regular appointments, a payment of half the amount is needed for appointments you cannot attend, giving more than 48 hour notice. The full payment is required for less than 48 hours notice.
For those people who cannot commit to a regular pattern of working, because of shift work, or for other reasons, booking cancellations only can be an answer. This frees you from the need to pay half the amount when you cannot attend, but does not guarantee you future appointments.

How much notice do I have to give if I change my mind about coming or need to rearrange?
I appreciate as much notice of a cancellation as you are able to give me, but I require a minimum of 48 hours notice. I will give you a client agreement to sign after the first session if you choose to continue working with me. After the first session, if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice you would be liable for the full cost of the session.
For regular clients, expecting weekly or fortnightly sessions, a payment of half the amount is needed for appointments you cannot attend, giving more than 48 hour notice. The full payment is required for less than 48 hours notice.

Is everything 100% confidential?
Confidentiality is very important for counselling and therapy to be effective. However, there are exceptions to confidentiality when someone, especially a child, is at risk of serious harm. If a confidentiality issue arises we would discuss what needs to happen in the session.
